Klopp apologizes for £100m comments…but Caido is a Chelsea possibility

Chances are high that manager Jurgen Klopp’s apology will not shine.

According to British media ‘Sky Sports’ on the same day, Klopp said, “I heard that our club and Brighton reached an agreement between the clubs regarding the transfer of Caicedo. But we have to wait and see the player agreement. We don’t know yet.” 

He also had to explain his 7-year-old remarks at the same time. In the summer of 2016, Klopp said spending more than £100m on a player was the wrong approach.

Klopp apologized, saying, “I thought I was wrong (for my previous remarks). I realized. Everything has changed and it’s easy to admit that I was wrong.” 

But immediately after Klopp’s press conference, the situation changed dramatically. According to multiple media, including the British media’Guardian’, reports came out that Caicedo, who had left a personal agreement as Klopp said, conveyed his intention to transfer to Chelsea.
