Look Fantastic August 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic August 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic Beauty Box August 2015

This month’s Look Fantastic beauty box contains 6 great hair and beauty products, a couple of which I really like and will probably continue using, all valued at a total of just over £41. It was nice to receive a variety of different cosmetic brands this time that I hadn’t yet tried since the last few beauty boxes have had items from pretty much the same brands.

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box Contents

Contents of the Look Fantastic August 2015 Beauty Box:

Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist 1.8ml – Worth £0.46

Even though you only get a tiny sample which is a fraction of the full sized mist, this is probably my favourite product in the box. A quick spritz of this neroli and rose-scented face mist toner really does refresh the skin and lift the spirits as it promises on the packaging. It is supposed to purify and hydrate the skin and contains healing waters from Budapest to give firmer, suppler and younger looking skin. It is a great pick-me-up mid-afternoon when I get my usual afternoon energy slump as it is refreshing and really wakes me up!

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder (Snow Flake) – Worth £7.79

This is a great little pot of shimmery eyeshadow, it is long lasting and doesn’t crease or fade and the snow flake shade that you receive is brilliant for highlighting the eyes and giving a subtle shimmer that is a great look for the day as well as the night.

Rimmel London Wonder’Full Wake Me Up Mascara (Black) – Worth £7.99
(This item won’t be found in all beauty boxes this month as you may receive an alternative product from Rimmel – either the Scandaleyes XX-Treme Volume & Length Mascara, Provocalips or Wonder’Full Mascara with Argan Oil)

Rimmel is a brand that I grew up with and is an affordable makeup brand that I used to use when I was a student. I haven’t used their products for years so it’s nice to see how they’ve updated their packaging and range in line with modern makeup trends. The Wonder’Full Wake Me Up Mascara is a decent mascara that actually does lift your lashes and doesn’t clump when applied although the brush is a little big and clumsy to use.  Even though it is not waterproof it lasted all day without smudging too much and seems to withstand sweat and humidity just as well as my usual waterproof mascara.

Eve Lom Cleanser & Muslin Cloth 30ml  – Worth £16.50

This highly acclaimed cleanser comes with a specially woven muslin cloth and removes daily dirt and impurities whilst decongesting, softening and toning the skin. It contains clove oil which helps keep skin clear and eucalyptus oil which helps to drain away toxins. I found this cleanser to be great at removing any last traces of makeup as well as being gentle on my skin without leaving it feeling dry. The muslin cloth works well with the cleanser because it helps to exfoliate the skin leaving it soft, toned and smooth and more receptive to my daily facial care products.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream 25ml – Worth £6.74

This is a leave-in hair product that’s supposed to deliver 10 benefits including providing hair with more moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection and hold. I’m not a fan of hair products and don’t use them as they tend to weigh my fine hair down especially if they are in a cream or gel form so I gave this to a friend who is delighted with it and says that it smells amazing and makes her hair feel super soft as well as smooth and shiny and makes her thick hair more manageable.

Beauty Works 10-In-1 Miracle Spray 50ml – Worth £2.40

This spray promises to give hair multiple benefits in just one spritz including eliminating frizz, nourishing the hair, replenishing oils, restoring shine, detangling, conditioning, preventing split ends, enhancing natural body, repairing dry damaged hair and protecting against heat. It can be used on wet hair to detangle before styling or on dry hair as a styling creme and is supposed to be perfect for people with hair extensions too. I tried out this product when my hair was wet and blow dried and styled my hair as normal afterwards. It left my hair feeling hydrated and light and actually gave my hair a little bit of volume and extra gloss without feeling greasy. It also smells great and makes you feel like you’ve just stepped out of the salon!

Look Fantastic July 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic July 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic Beauty Box July 2015

On opening the Look Fantastic July Beauty Box, I noticed that there were a few brands that seem to be favourites of Look Fantastic as this month’s box again included something from Balance Me as well as from Nuxe and Lord & Berry, all of which I’ve received products in past beauty boxes. There was only really one item that peaked my interest in this box and that was the Everything Balm from Trilogy, otherwise besides that there are a couple of face oils and lip liner which I wouldn’t normally use as well as some face wash and shampoo. The total cost of the 6 items are valued at just over £29 and at only £15 a box this is quite worth it if you use all the items.

Look Fantastic July Beauty Box Contents

Contents of the Look Fantastic July 2015 Beauty Box:

Trilogy Everything Balm 10ml – Worth £2.50

This pocket sized Everything Balm is a great little balm that can be used for absolutely everything and is definitely my favourite product in the box. It can be used as a lip balm, heel balm, hand cream, massage oil, nappy cream, face moisturiser and body moisturiser and it smells amazing! The balm has quite a light texture, is good as a lip balm and to soothe chapped lips, it’s a bit too greasy for my liking to be used as a hand cream but it’s great for rough heels and to soften any dry patches on your face or body. The size that you receive in the beauty box is about a quarter of the size of the full sized product but it’s perfect for carrying around and should last a long time.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lipliner (Nude) – Worth £9

This lip liner is supposed to be easy to use, highly blendable and comfortable to wear. It is waterproof and enriched with LXB complex to soften and protect the skin around the lips. I don’t use lip liner so I’ll be passing this one on to a friend but judging on the quality of the Lord & Berry eye pencil that I received in the March beauty box, I’m sure it will not fail to please.

Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash 50ml (Normal to combination skin) – Worth £2.25

I’ve been using the same face wash for the past 10 years so I very rarely try other face washes but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It gets rid of makeup and impurities easily without having to scrub a lot and left my face feeling really clean and refreshed without leaving it feeling dry or tight. It’s 98.8% natural too which is always a plus!

Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo 50ml – Worth £2.09

The Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo is supposed to be used once or twice a month to deep cleanse and exfoliate your hair and get rid of built up impurities from your usual hair products. Interestingly it can also be used as an invigorating body wash! It left my hair feeling squeaky clean and not overly soft which is what I don’t like about most other shampoos. Even though I don’t use a lot of hair products I’ll definitely be using this shampoo once a month to “detox”my hair!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse 10ml – Worth £2.80

This is basically the same Nuxe oil that I received in the May beauty box but without the shimmer. I have been using the other one on my legs and will use this one on my legs too as it leaves my skin feeling really silky and soft without feeling too greasy and is better than most body lotions.

Monu Firming Fiji Facial Oil 40ml – Worth £10.40

I try not to use facial oils because I’m worried that it will clog up my pores and cause spots but I’ve used it a couple of times already and haven’t had a breakout so far, so fingers crossed! This facial oil smells great and has a greasier feel compared to the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. It contains plant oils to nourish and protect whilst firming and toning the skin. I have quite oily skin naturally so I haven’t noticed any difference in the texture of my skin, also my skin tone has stayed the same, hopefully if I continue using it it will help firm it up a little!

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Price Comparison – With Free Worldwide Shipping

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Price Comparison – With Free Worldwide Shipping

SKII Facial Treatment Essence Price

The SK-II Facial Treament Essence is undoubtedly one of the most popular beauty products purchased from the health and beauty retailers on InternationalOnlineShopping.org. Famed for it’s use of the miracle ingredient Pitera which claims to rejuvenate the skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles leaving it soft, firm and crystal clear, it can certainly make a dent in your pockets as the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence price can vary between $59 and $77 for just a 75ml bottle. If you’re looking to purchase some we’ve sought out the cheapest SK-II Facial Treatment Essence price deals online and all of them include free worldwide shipping too!

Cosme-de.com US$19 for 30ml, US$60 for 75ml, US$112 for 150ml, US$127 for 215ml, US$206 for 330ml *Cheapest*

Cosme-de is where you can get the best deal on the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. A 30ml is only $19 which is 34% off the usual price and it’s actually cheaper to buy 5 of this size bottle (works out to be $95) than buying the actual 150ml bottle which is $112! They also do regular promotions for the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence as this is one of their best selling products.

Sasa.com US59 for 75ml, US$100 for 150ml, US$125 for 215ml, US$178 for 330ml

Sasa.com actually offer the cheapest price online for all sizes of the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence however they don’t offer the 30ml bottle that Cosme-de does so buying from Cosme-de actually works out to be cheaper. Worldwide shipping is also only free if your purchase is over $75.

FragrancesAndCosmeticsCo.com US$66 for 75ml, US$13o for 150ml, US$178 for 215ml, US$239 for 330ml

FragrancesAndCosmeticsCo is US$66 for 75ml but they are giving 10% off using the discount code WELCOMEFCO until the 31st December 2015 which makes it only $59.40 which is roughly the same price as the 75ml bottle from Sasa but still not as economical as getting the 30ml bottles from Cosme-de.

StrawberryNET.com US$77 for 75ml, US$150.50 for 150ml, US$206.50 for 215ml, US$277.50 for 330ml *Most Expensive*

StrawberryNET is the most expensive at $77 for a 75ml bottle and even after a 5% discount when you purchase 3 or more items. They give free samples with all orders but it’s still not worth it when you can get it around 30% cheaper from Cosme-de or Sasa.

The SK-II Facial Treament Essence price in Japan is 16,275 yen for 150ml (US$133) and without tax it is 12,800 yen (US$104) so buying from Cosme-de.com is surprisingly slightly cheaper than buying it in Japan where it actually originates from! For more information about the SK-II Facial Treament Essence check out my review and please leave a comment if you find the SK-II Facial Treament Essence cheaper elsewhere!

Look Fantastic June 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic June 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic Beauty Box June 2015

I’m pretty happy with this month’s beauty box, it contained mostly face products as well as brands such as Ren and Label.m that I already use and absolutely love although I was surprised to find the Balance Me Revitalising Body Wash again which I actually received just 2 months ago in my April Beauty Box. This month’s Beauty Box again contained 6 items valued at around £50.

Look Fantastic June Beauty Box Contents

Contents of the Look Fantastic June 2015 Beauty Box:

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask 15ml – Worth £9.60

Ren is one of my favourite beauty brands, I currently use their Seaweed and Sage Body Wash and also their Neroli and Grapefruit Body Cream, they both smell great and are really gentle on the skin which is what I like about Ren products. I’d heard of their Glycolactic Mask before and had been wanting to try it as it’s been highly raved about and is supposed to be great for improving skin tone and radiance as well as reducing the appearance of wrinkles. After cleansing my face this morning I applied the mask and left it on for 10 minutes as per the instructions. It has a sticky texture and very mild fruity fragrance, the mask doesn’t set so be careful not to get it everywhere when you have it on. After washing it off, my face definitely looked brighter and more radiant and was super soft to touch. I was quite happy with the results so I’ll probably get the full size once I run out!

Balance Me Revitalising Hand and Body Wash 100ml – Worth £4.16
(This item won’t be found in all beauty boxes this month as you may receive an alternative product from either Tigi, Alterna Haircare, Redken or Korres)

I already received this in my April Beauty Box (check out my Look Fantastic April Beauty Box Review for the review on this product) so although it would be nice to have received a different product to try I’ve already used up my other one so I’m sure another one will come in handy for bringing on a long holiday or at the gym.

Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion 5ml – Worth £10.83

I’ve actually used this before as I was given a sample of it when I purchased something from LookFantastic earlier this year but I didn’t see any benefit when using it. It’s designed to help promote healthy collagen and hydration levels and to give a more youthful appearance by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles but when using it I found that it mattified the appearance of my skin and made it look dull. It absorbs fairly easily and to be fair I only used it a couple of times so I’ll continue using it to see if there is any improvement in my skin.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting 10ml – Worth £15

I was really pleased to receive this as I’ve been looking recently for serums that help even out skin tone. The Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is the no. 1 anti-dark spot product in France and it’s supposed to treat pigmentation, acne scars, uneven skin tone and sun damage as well as boost radiance and prevent dark spots. The serum is quite light and absorbs easily but it does leave my skin feeling slightly sticky so I will probably only use it at night. It actually reminds me of the Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum which I received in the March Beauty Box as it has a similar texture and exactly the same scent. This 10ml tube is a third of the size of the full sized product and it should last me a couple of weeks to really see if there are any results.

Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream 15ml – Worth £6.30

This day cream is supposed to hydrate and revive the skin and it is packed full of antioxidants to prevent signs of ageing. I didn’t find it to be anything special, it’s just a normal light cream that did leave my skin soft and hydrated and it wasn’t too greasy however it would be good if it had SPF as I wouldn’t normally use a day cream without. The Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse that I received is for normal/combination skin but they also have a version for dry skin.

Label.m Blow Out Spray 50ml – Worth £4
(This item won’t be found in all beauty boxes this month as you may receive an alternative product from either KMS or L’anza)

Really happy to have received this in my box as my hairdresser usually uses this product when blow drying my hair. It gives my hair a bit more volume and texture as well as leaves it smelling great! It also protects your locks from heat damage and UV rays. The spray that you receive is a mini version so it’s great for bringing on holiday or to the gym.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my review of the Look Fantastic June Beauty Box, if you’d like to get one, the June edition is still available from LookFantastic.com and they are also taking pre-orders for the July Beauty Box.

Please leave a comment below if you have any questions or to let us know what you think about this month’s box!

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Review

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Review

SKII Facial Treatment Essence

SK-II is one of the most sought-after beauty brands from health and beauty retailers here on InternationalOnlineShopping.com; a cosmetic company from Japan that is famed for their miracle ingredient Pitera which is found in their signature product the Facial Treatment Essence.  There are a lot of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence reviews out there that offer a myriad of opinions so I decided to try it out myself to see what all the hype is about and give you the low down on what I found.

First, just a bit of background into my skin type. I’ve always had very oily skin, even more so now that I live in Singapore with all it’s humidity. I used to be prone to getting acne in my t-zone but thankfully that cleared up when I was in my mid-20’s. The marks from my acne which were never that prominent to begin with have all disappeared and my skin is generally quite clear except for a couple of little moles, skin tone is fairly even and the texture of my skin is quite smooth and soft. Now that I’m in my 30’s I notice that I have a couple of laugh lines near my eyes and the pores near my nose could do with being a little less enlarged.

The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence contains 90% Pitera which is supposed to make spots and moles less visible, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and refine the skin’s texture making it softer, smoother, firmer, radiant and crystal clear. All this sounds good to me so I have been using it twice daily over the last few weeks as they recommend using it for at least 14 days in order to notice any difference.

On first application I noticed that it had a lovely water-like consistency and absorbed immediately into my skin and didn’t leave a sticky residue. It’s actually very similar to a toner but it should be used after your regular toner. I’ve been applying it morning and night together with my usual face products and after 2 weeks I have to admit that I did notice that my skin was feeling softer and my skin tone was looking more even. The firmness of my skin and pore size has also improved somewhat. Only time will tell if it actually has any effect on reducing my moles and laugh lines. My skin has always had a glow to it, probably because it’s oily and also because my usual face cleanser contains exfoliation granules so I didn’t see any improvement in terms of radiance of my skin but the Pitera in the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is supposed to exfoliate the skin so I suspect that others would find the radiance of their skin improve as I truly believe that exfoliation is the key to great skin! Anyway I’m definitely happy with the results so far and will continue using it and I think I’m going to recommend it to my friends back in the UK too because it’s lovely and hydrating which is perfect for the winter months when the weather can get quite dry.

Hope you’ve enjoyed my review of the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. If you’re looking to purchase some check out my SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Price Comparison. Also please leave a comment and let me know what you think of the product if you are currently using it or if you have any questions!

Look Fantastic May 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic May 2015 Beauty Box Review

Look Fantastic Beauty Box May 2015The Look Fantastic May 2015 beauty box is the third beauty box I’ve got from them, I actually got a 6 month beauty box subscription after being so pleased with the first one I’d received. The £75 for the 6 month subscription is well worth it as it works out to be only £12.50 per box plus free worldwide delivery! This month’s box is worth £45 and again contained 6 different hair and beauty products the majority of which I hadn’t heard of before but it’s a great way to discover new products!

Look Fantastic May Beauty Box Contents

Contents of the Look Fantastic May 2015 Beauty Box:

Eylure Pre-Glued Lashes – Worth £5.05

This is the first thing that caught my attention when I opened the beauty box. I’ve always wanted to try wearing false eyelashes but I’m hopeless at applying the lash glue and somehow always manage to get it everywhere that I’ve never actually successfully worn any before. These Eylure lashes are pre-glued so it solves half my problem, the other half being the actual application of the lashes! But once I’d trimmed them down a little to fit my eye shape they were actually very easy to apply, just be careful not to rip out some of your own eyelashes when you remove them as the adhesive is quite strong! They stayed on perfectly for the whole night that I wore them and they are also reusable although I don’t know how many uses the adhesive will last for. Anyway I’m just happy that there’s another easier option available for falsh eyelashes 🙂 The lashes I received were quite natural looking (you may receive a different set in your beauty box) and you can’t really tell that I’m wearing falsies so I may try getting some of their other lashes for a more volumised look.

Erno Laszlo Transphuse Night Serum 2ml – Worth £14.40

This serum is supposed to work whilst you sleep and reduces the appearance of fine lines making your skin smoother and more youthful as well as prevents additional wrinkles from appearing. It has a very light texture and is easy to apply. The tube you receive in the beauty box is very small, only 2ml, but considering the full size is 15ml and costs £108 the one you receive is quite a generous size! You only need to apply a very small amount of the serum nightly so you may be able to use the tube over a couple of weeks to see if it works before forking out for the full size tube.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm 5ml – Worth £4.60

This cleansing balm is award-winning and is self-proclaimed as the ‘best cleanser you will ever use’. It is infused with natural minerals and oils to remove all impurities and make-up including waterproof mascara, as well as detoxifying and nourishing the skin, leaving it soft and hydrated. This cleansing balm is different to the facial cleansers I would normally use as it has an oily texture and I would normally go for a facial scrub. I always remove my makeup before washing my face anyway but the cleansing balm seemed to get rid of any remaining makeup and clean my face quite well and leave my skin feeling silkily smooth. However it did leave a slightly greasy residue which I didn’t really like. It has a lovely orange blossom scent though, uplifting and refreshing in the morning.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or Multi Usage Dry Oil Golden Shimmer 10ml – Worth £4.20

This is a multi-usage dry oil that gives a golden shimmer to your face, body and hair whilst nourishing and repairing at the same time. It’s supposed to leave your hair glossy and full of volume but unfortunately my fine hair didn’t really like it and ended up looking greasy and limp instead. It’s also a bit greasy for my face but it gives my arms and legs a nice natural glow and is not too shimmery either so I think I’ll use it instead of body lotion. It would look great on tanned skin in the summer too!

Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask with Rare Prickly Pear Seed Oil 50ml – Worth £10

This hair mask is enriched with pure prickly pear seed oil which is one of the rarest and most expensive oils in the world. It is great for dry damaged hair as well as coloured hair but is suitable for all hair types and repairs and protects your hair from split ends and further damage. It did wonders on my dry colour-treated hair leaving it extrememly soft and shiny so I’ll probably invest in the full size tub when it runs out.

Tanworx Self Tanning Lotion Fair to Medium 100ml – Worth £6.97

I’ve only ever used self tan once before and that turned out to be a streaky orange mess so I gave this away to a friend instead. She just tried it over the weekend and gave me the thumbs up on it and said that it’s given her a nice natural glow but it’s important to exfoliate well and moisturise before using the self tan so that the finished result is even. Guess I’ll try that next time! 😉

vPost Review

vPost Review

vPost Review

vPost is a package forwarding company operated by Singapore Post that forwards packages from the US, UK, Japan and China to anywhere in the world. I’ve been using vPost since around the end of last year and although there are some flaws in their service, I’ve generally been quite happy and hope that this vPost review can provide some insights and help you better decide on whether or not to choose them for your package forwarding needs.

Firstly, signing up to use vPost is a cinch, you can either sign up by filling in a simple form or use your facebook login if you have one. You will then be given your own personalised overseas addresses in the US, UK, Japan and China so you can shop from any online shop in those countries apart from some merchants that don’t allow delivery to package forwarding addresses (for a list of those merchants see here). After your shopping has arrived at your overseas address, vPost will notify you via email to let you know that it’s arrived. You can then declare your package by logging into your account and specifying the details of the contents in the package and their value. After doing this the cost of forwarding your package to you will be displayed (you can choose to send it by airmail or by sea (US Only) which takes longer but can sometimes be cheaper) and you can then make your payment online. New users get 15% off their first vPost shipment using the discount code SGWELCOME15. You can opt to have your package sent to your home address or you can collect it at your local post office or POPstation if you live in Singapore. Your package is then shipped out over the next couple of days and you can track the delivery progress on the vPost website and they also send out emails to update you. Then all you have to do is sit back and wait for your package to arrive which usually only takes around 5-8 working days.

So as you can see it’s quite a simple process! I used vPost for several shipments from the US and UK over the past few months and with shipments from the US I didn’t encounter any problems and was very happy with the service overall. I was able to save a lot in shipping costs by using them as they offer a bundling discount (only for customers in Singapore) so if you order from several different merchants and wait for all your packages to arrive and ship them out together, then you only have to pay the base charge once. Base charge varies per country with the base charge for the US being 13.40 Singapore Dollars  (around US$10), UK at S$23, Japan at S$16 and China at S$12. So as you can see below, I only paid the base charge of SG$13.40 once for the first package and then for the rest of the packages the base charge was discounted.

vPost US bundling discount
vPost allows 3 weeks of free storage so that you can wait for all your packages to arrive which is good compared to other package forwarding companies that I’ve used that charge a storage fee. However there’s a holding fee of S$1.50 per day per package if the period goes over 3 weeks so just make sure you do all your shopping quickly and allow time for delivery! If you aren’t based in Singapore and want to shop at several different merchants I would probably recommend using another package forwarding company such as Shipito who can consolidate your packages into one bigger package to save on international shipping costs.

Even if you are not based in Singapore and can’t take advantage of the bundling discount you can still save a lot of money on shipping charges for single packages as using vPost is sometimes cheaper than using the merchant’s shipping option if they offer international shipping. For example I purchased something from Ivivva Athletica and as you can see above I only paid S$17.95 (around US$13.30) whereas if I had chosen to have it shipped directly by Ivivva Athletica it would have cost me US$30. Of course if you shop from any of the merchants on International Online Shopping then delivery worldwide is free. 🙂

Also be aware that vPost calculate shipping costs based on volumetric weight or actual weight, whichever is higher. So if something that you’ve purchased is very light but it takes up a lot of space, then even though the actual weight is very low you may end up paying a high shipping charge because of the size of the package being large and therefore the volumetric weight is high. vPost will repackage your purchase though for a fee of S$12 to help you save on shipping costs if the difference between the actual weight and volumetric weight is 2kg or more.

Shopping on international online shopping websites can often be cheaper than buying the same products locally and if you use vPost to forward your packages from the US then you can save even more because your dedicated address in the US is located in Oregon which is a tax free state so all your shopping will be US tax free!

Another advantage of using vPost is that if you are able to use their bundling discount, the individual packages will not be consolidated into one bigger package but will all be sent in their original packaging as received from each merchant. Therefore since they are treated as separate packages, each package is exempt from GST (Goods and Services Tax) up to the maximum value for the country you are based in (in Singapore you don’t have to pay GST for goods valued under S$400), so you are less likely to have to pay GST compared to a single large package with several purchases combined, where the value of the contents are more likely to exceed the customs tax allowance.

The times that I used vPost to forward my packages from the US, I found the service to be quick and efficient. It would usually take them around 1-2 days to update packages on the system when they received them and they were all shipped out very quickly and I received them after only 1 week. I was sent regular email notifications for when they received my packages and throughout the entire delivery process and the online system was also updated in a timely manner so I could easily check the progress of my delivery. I found them to be extremely reliable and although vPost provide you with the option to purchase insurance against loss or damage I think that it’s not really necessary since delivery is trackable and seems to be safe.

On the other hand I’ve found that using vPost to forward packages from the UK is a different story. Updates to the online system to show delivery progress is slow and is usually only updated after several days and as you can see below until this day they still haven’t updated the system to show that I’ve received my order. Email updates were also late and sometimes not sent out at all.

vPost Delivery Progress

The worst experience I’ve had with vPost was earlier on this year when I used them to forward two packages to me from the UK, one of which had some items that were flammable and therefore weren’t allowed to be sent to Singapore. Instead of contacting me to let me know that they weren’t able to forward that particular package, the system allowed me to make payment for the shipping of both packages. After I received the other package I contacted vPost customer services to ask them why I hadn’t received the second package and they replied saying that they had raised a request to the relevant team and that it would take three working days for the request to be processed. After a few days I chased them up and received a reply saying that they were still investigating into the whereabouts of my package and finally 11 days after my initial contact they informed me that they were unable to ship the package to Singapore as it contained flammable goods so I could choose to have it returned to the merchant, disposed of, forwarded to another courier or redirected to another address. I opted to have it redirected to another address in the UK and contacted them on the 22nd January to let them know and it took them until the 2nd of February to arrange for payment of the redirection charges. After payment was made the package was redirected within 2 days and received quickly however they still haven’t updated the online system to reflect this. The vPost team in the UK seem to be quite disorganised and because of this I received another email nearly 2 months later from customer services saying that I had to inform them about what I wanted to do with the package!? After a couple of emails back and forth they realised their mistake but they still haven’t updated the status of the package on the system!

On the whole I’ve found vPost customer service to be fairly quick in replying to email queries but their communication with the UK team needs to be more effective. Also with my name being Stephanie I found it quite amusing how some would address me as “Mr” even when I highlighted the “Ms” in my email signature. 🙂 All in all I think that vPost are a good package forwarding company to use when shopping on US online stores but be wary when using them for forwarding packages from the UK.

Please leave a comment below if you have used vPost to forward packages from Japan or China as we’d be interested in hearing about the service you received or if you’d like to leave your own review of vPost or share any current vPost promotional codes 🙂

Look Fantastic Beauty Box April 2015

I was really excited to receive this month’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box after being thrilled with the last one and this month’s box didn’t disappoint either. It came beautifully wrapped in it’s signature black and white box and again contained 6 beauty products across skincare, haircare, cosmetics and body care all valued at over £34 and a steal for only £15 including free worldwide shipping.

Look Fantastic April Beauty Box Contents

Contents of the Look Fantastic April 2015 Beauty Box:

Inika Organic Eye Liner (Black Caviar) – Worth £13.50

This month I received another black eye liner but I prefer this eye liner to the Lord & Berry one I received in last month’s beauty box as the kohl is not as soft although it is very easy to apply and glides on smoothly. It is also easy to smudge in and has a long lasting staying power compared to the Lord and Berry eye pencil. It is made from natural organic ingredients so it’s great for sensitive skin too. It usually comes with a complimentary sharpener lid but the one in the beauty box comes with a normal lid.

Korres Milk Soap 40g – Worth £1.76
(This item won’t be found in all beauty boxes this month as you may receive an alternative product from Korres – either the Calendula Soap or Aloe and Soapwort Shampoo)

The Korres milk soap is made with natural milk proteins, is suitable for all skin types, can be used on the face and body and is ideal for stressed skin in need of some tender love and care. It is supposed to soothe and hydrate the skin and leave it feeling silky smooth. Although it’s supposed to be able to be used on the face, when I tried using it I found it to be not as gentle as my usual face cleanser. Same goes for using it on the body, I would prefer using a shower gel although the soap is quite creamy and lathers easily and can be used when shaving. It does however leave the skin feeling softer and slightly moisturised with a velvety feel which is great for my dry hands! The scent of the soap is quite strong but not unpleasant.

Forza 30 Day Multivitamin For Dieters 30 Day Supply – Worth £7.49

This is a daily multivitamin designed for women to be taken whilst dieting as it provides the body with all the nutrients and vitamins it needs to maintain healthy during the cutting down of calories. It contains 13 different vitamins and minerals including calcium, vitamin C, biotin, zinc and six types of B vitamins. Even though I’m not on a diet I think this is a good general multivitamin for me to take especially on days where I haven’t been eating particularly healthily and getting the necessary nutrients. Also since I exercise frequently this multivitamin is great for replenishing minerals lost through sweat and for helping improve my performance.

Balance Me Revitalising Hand and Body Wash 100ml – Worth £4.16

This Balance Me Hand and Body Wash smells like summer in a bottle and has an uplifting, feel-good zesty aroma. It contains four essential oils, blending together calming mandarin with cleansing grapefruit, balancing bergamot and rejuvenating sweet orange, as well as a hint of mint. It is suitable for even the most sensitive skin and is supposed to clean your skin without stripping or drying it but leaving it smooth and hydrated. I really like this hand and body wash, the smell is almost addictive and really wakes you up in the shower. It lathers fairly easily and is gentle on the skin. The full sized version is 300ml and usually comes in a pump bottle but the one in the beauty box is a good size for bringing on a long holiday and comes in a handy squeezy tube.

CB12 Mint Menthol Mouthwash 50ml – Worth £2

This mouthwash is the perfect sample size to carry around, it is good for 5 uses as you’re supposed to use 10ml each time you rise your mouth with it. It has a strong minty flavour and leaves your mouth feeling cool and refreshed. It’s supposed to prevent bad breath for up to 12 hours and also contains fluoride to help prevent tooth decay.

Tigi Mini Bed Head Manipulator 30g – Worth £5.67
(This item won’t be found in all beauty boxes this month as you may receive an alternative product from either Alterna Haircare or Redken)

Tigi is a premium haircare brand that I’ve used before and I love the smell of their products. The Bed Head Manipulator can be used to style your hair or just to give it a bit of body and texture and can be used on damp or dry hair. I don’t normally use styling products because with my hair being fine, I find that it can weigh it down and leave it feeling greasy and the Bed Head Manipulator did just that. I passed it onto my hubby to try and although he has thicker hair he also found it to make his hair look greasy and didn’t find it easy to style with. Given that he hasn’t had a haircut for 3 months we both came to the conclusion that it may work better on very short hair.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this review and if you’d like to get the Look Fantastic April Beauty Box, it’s still available on thier website.
